Next Dor STL is a central gathering place for Jewish young adults in St. Louis. It seeks to create a strong and vibrant Jewish young adult community by providing the resources to connect people with ideas and the opportunities for young adults to execute their own projects and events. The organization is seeking a passionate, sociable, self-motivated individual who is motivated to lead the transition of a small Jewish non-profit to a more traditional and sustainable management structure.
The Executive Director will be primarily responsible for cultivating connections in the Jewish community, both to potential users of Next Dor STL and to possible donors willing to support the efforts of Next Dor STL. The Executive Director will also be in charge of helping users put on programs at the Next Dor STL house by providing assistance with logistics and publicity. He or she will also be responsible for continuing the Karen Solomon Young Adult Service Initiative, a joint effort of the Jewish Community Relations Council, the Jewish Community Centers, and Next Dor STL to encourage long-term volunteerism among Jewish young adults.
This person will be working full-time (40+ hours a week) with minimal daily direct supervision. He or she needs to be capable of remaining motivated and focused in this type of environment.
The position will start as soon as April 15. Funding is guaranteed until the end of calendar year 2012, though an extension is possible if additional funding becomes available.
